CES+ recently retrofitted two Georgia-based Marcus Theatres® auditoriums with complete Dolby Atmos systems. The theatres, located in Horizon Village Cinema in Suwanee, and Roswell Cinema, located in Roswell, were converted to Dolby Atmos in only three weeks in order to complete the project before the release of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
“From project design inception, we began to value engineer a proposal that was farther outside the box than any other provider bidding these Atmos projects,” explained Alex Younger, CES+ CEO. “This is the primary reason CES+ was able to win two out of three bids because we always stick to our values and help our customers by building long term relationships. And that is what prevailed here.”
Founded in 1935, Milwaukee, Wis.-based Marcus Theatres® is the fourth largest theatre circuit in the United States and currently owns or operates 1,106 screens at 91 locations in 17 states under the Marcus Theatres, Movie Tavern® by Marcus, and BistroPlex® brands.
“CES+ did a good job, as always, completing the project in a very short timeframe,” said Mark Gramz, SVP Operations of Marcus Theatres.
For this project, CES+ value engineering made sure that the retrofits were not only on budget, but below budget without any quality degradation. CES+ also took a different approach than most on this project by including an on-site project manager, allowing CES+ to deploy two projects simultaneously with minimal to no interruption for either.
